Corsair Leader: The WWII Pacific Theater Solitaire Game This game places you in command of a US Navy or US Marine Squadron in the hostile skies of WWII in the Pacific! We have also added special United States Army Air Force missions to add to the Pacific experience! For those of you who are new to the series, Air Leader games are entirely solitaire by design. This means you can play whenever, where ever, and for as long as you like. No opponent needed! The game system handles all the enemy decisions and actions for you! Corsair Leader is based on the Hornet Leader II core game, but with some significant changes. The game focuses on the Marine F4U Corsairs in the Pacific. The 2 campaigns cover the Solomon Islands campaign that lasted from late 1942 to early 1944. Also, the aircraft under your command center on the Corsair, but you also get to decide if you want to include Dauntlesses, B-25s, and B-17s as part of your group. Each aircraft has its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, the B-17s carry a lot of bombs and are hard to shoot down, but they are terrible versus naval targets and only moderately accurate against all but the largest of land targets. The game also goes more in-depth on the tactical options you have while over target. Each turn, each aircraft can become "Offensive" which gives it an attack bonus, but also makes it easier to be attacked when it gets shot at. Likewise, aircraft can be "Defensive" which penalizes their own attacks and makes them harder to hit. "Slow" pilots can "Rush" their attack at a penalty and attack during the Fast pilot step, and "Fast" pilots can Wait and get a bonus if they attack during the Slow pilot step. Like the other games in the "Leader" series, Corsair Leader is a solitaire game. Corsair Leader adds several new features to the Air Leader series! - Detailed Dog-fighting rules! - You'll select a Maneuver, adjust Position, and do your best to shoot down enemy aircraft! The AI uses the same rules for Maneuvering on your Aircraft! - Enemy Bandit Pilot Skill Levels - Each Enemy Bandit is rated for its Pilot Skill Level from Newbie to Ace. The higher their Skill Level, the higher their ratings. When you shoot down enemy Veterans and Aces, you remove those counters from the Campaign! - Gung Ho - WWII was all about teamwork and getting the job done. Each of your Pilot's has a Gung Ho skill that you can use to perform heroic actions! - Naval Sites - We've added an entire set of Naval Site counters for Naval Targets! This gives Naval Targets a completely different feel from land targets!
