Fangqi is a strategy board game played traditionally throughout Northern China as a training game for weiqi (Go). Fangqi is also known as diūfāng and xiàfāng. In Ningxia, the game is played on a 7×8 gridded board using black and white beads, 28 beads per player.
The player who removes all of the opponent's beads or immobilizes their opponent, is the winner.
The board starts empty. Players choose a color of beads and decide who plays first.
Players alternate turns placing beads on the intersections, attempting to form 2×2 squares, until the board is filled.
It is one of the best intellectual games for kids and adults. Easy to learn! A great present for any occasion.
