This antique game board for the game of "Bobb" was manufactured in the United States and published by McLoughlin Bros. with an 1892 patent. The game board has a deep wooden frame with paper on wood lithograph design. There are silhouettes in black of men tumbling all around the inner edge. Holes at center are for the game piece to sit. The game was played with two small wooden mallets which the players used to gently tap the underside of the board thru the holes where the bobb playing piece was sitting to gain or lose points. The board came with four wooden legs about 8" long to allow the players to get underneath with their mallets. The game piece was shaped like a bobbin or fishing bobber and would gently rock which is probably how the name for the game was created. Size: 18.5" square by 1 3/8" deep. The last picture shows a drawing of the game piece. (in case you want to build one, lol). Condition: Age related wear to sides and corners. Paper on game board looks good overall, no big tears or scratches. Would display very well. Note: Listing is for BOARD only, other explanations of game parts was for your interest.
