For your consideration is the circa 1890 board game, THE SHOP BOY by J.H. Singer of New York City. The game is featured in the collection of the Strong Museum of Play (Object ID 107.3499). It measures 5-1/4 inches square and is complete with game board, spinner and wooden playing pieces in original box CONDITION : The game is COMPLETE with original game board, spinner and wooden pieces. All components are in good condition. The removable board is clean and bright. The spinner spins freely. The wooden pieces retain most of their colors. The chromolithographed box cover is rubbed and lightly soiled. Heaviest wear is at the extremities. The box top and bottom are intact (two neatly repaired corners on the box top). PLEASE MOUSE OVER THE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR CONDITION DETAILS. Note: I am a game collector with, among other things, a specialty in Horatio Alger-type "Rags to Riches" games like this one. I am listing some of the duplicates from my collection. See the others I will be listing this week.
