SPI 1974 : FRIGATE - Sea War in the Age of Sail 1800's (UNPUNCHED) Game Tray Description We Have For Sale (1) tmj SPI Simulations Publications Incorporated (1974) Frigate game "Sea War In the Age of Sail" SPI 1974 by The SPI Team This is the Plastic Tray Version w/slipsheet 100% COMPLETE Nr. Mint - Mint! Condition Tray is in very good condition! Loose cardboard bottom See Pictures UNPUNCHED and Unplayed Frigate Simulates the legendary naval battles of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries in twenty different scenarios. The Scenarios represent batttles including American, British, French, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch Vessels. They range in scope from the action between the HMS Guerriere and USS Constitution, to the Battle of Trafalgar, involving seventy men of war. The Mapsheet is an endless geomorphic hexgrid. Six map sections may be placed in any configuration as the battle moves across the sea. The number of guns each ship mounts reads-out on its counter, as does Gunnery Strenght at various distances. Defense Strenght (a product of damage control efficiency and displacement) and all important facing. The enemy may be engaged by gunfire at great distances, or ships may close with the enemy and run afoul, with crews grappling and boarding the enemy ships in bloody confusion. Contents
