The game can take 30–60 minutes to play and is suitable for players of all skill levels. In the game, players choose a party leader character with a class and skill that gives them an advantage. Players can use hero cards, item cards, magic cards, modifier cards, and challenge cards. The goal is to be the first player to slay three monsters or assemble a full party of six classes. Players can build a party of heroes, use magic and item cards, or roll the dice and try to slay a monster. The base game box contains: 1 standard deck of 115 cards, 6 Party Leader cards, 15 oversized Monster cards, 2 six-sided dice, and 6 rules reference cards The game has different roles to play and over 130 cards, so every game is different. Players can equip items to their Heroes, harness powerful magic, and use roll modifiers to tip the odds in their favor.
