The Volcano Hex Expansion provides a new level of gameplay to the traditional Catan game. When the number on the volcano is rolled, the player will roll a D1. A settlement or city built on that will be reduced or destroyed. All others will receive a resource card of their choice. Additional rule variations are available, including receiving gold instead of resources or discovery tokens.
